Grief Work

This work is an attempt to portray the process of loss and grief. A universal experience; attempts are often made to define the process, and measure it (assign how long it takes, the stages one goes through, and the shape that may take, how long one carries it and if they ever really let it go.)

Exploring, as well, the different kinds of grief; the loss of a loved one, deceased, may be thought of and experienced quite differently as compared to the loss of connection/a person who is still alive; the nature of the loss is not exactly the same.

There are many types of grief and many ways to grieve; this does not necessarily attempt to encapsulate everything.

This project is a meditation (in collaboration with the landscape and nature of North Clare, Ireland) walking literally through the process; creating and capturing images meant to offer a perspective or just a point to place focus and process. Its intent is to offer healing and a visual attempt of responding to the question “what does grief look like / letting go?”
